Democracy is powerful and participatory: it is the will of the voters who decide who leads. We may see an attempt to ignore the results of the election and install a President who did not win — a coup. Coups are defeated when millions of people act together. Therefore, we need the broadest possible network of people involved to win.
Working alongside Protect the Results and the authors of the Hold the Line Guide, Choose Democracy is a central organization crafting our collective strategy in the face of a such a scenario. They bring decades of experience training groups in nonviolent civil disobedience around the world to their work.
Through online trainings, educational content, and action alerts, Choose Democracy helps people recognize the signs of a coup, trains them to mobilize their communities, and connects them with the best opportunities to take action.
